Situated in London , the privately owned Factory Sports is a top quality sports and fitness centre encompassing a lounge bar, sauna, solarium, gymnasium and aerobic, spinning and cardio rooms. Converted from an old factory, the sports centre is situated on two-floors and has an annual membership of around 2,000. Prior to the JH coolers being installed, high summer temperatures in the aerobic, spinning and cardio rooms resulted in odours, humidity and a build upof condensation on the walls and ceilings. With membership falling, Managing Director, Marco antonio looked for a cost effective solution to cooling the areas. Having dismissed conventional air conditioning as too expensive to install and run and with only limited electrical power available, Jos de Deugd visited the International Installation Exhibition in Utrecht searching for a solution when he saw the JH cooling system being demonstrated. Now, four JH Icon, high efficiency air coolers have been installed on the roof of the building with stale air removed through extractor fans and cool air distributed via a textile ducted? ventilation system. Cooling is controlled by an Industrial Wall Controller (IWC), which enables Factory Sport to set and manage the temperature at the touch of a button. Air changes are carried out every 4 minutes, resulting in a steady flow of naturally cooled, fresh air. Temperatures are now 9¡ăC below ambient temperature providing staff and members with a healthy, cool environment with no unpleasant odours. ¡°Since JH cooling was installed, membership has increased by 10% with people joining Factory Sport from other leisure and sport centres in the area¡±, says Jos de Deugd. Not only is JH a very cost effective solution for the Centre it will also provide us with a short term payback based on increased membership alone¡±
